NO MORE HOOKS

Well, no more hooks after these two.... I have so many hooks! And really, how many can you use at one time? I love my hooks though. I'm not a hook snob either, I like all functional hooks. I'll let the hook collectors collect the collectible hooks. (how many times can you put 'collect' in one sentence?) The collectible hooks don't really appeal to me because I don't feel that I can use them without worrying about them. I don't want to lose them, drop them, break them, lend them, so what's the point in having them? yes, I know they are pretty.
I bought these two hooks because 1. they were on sale 50% off at Hobby Lobby 2. they are aluminum size N and M (more rare than the other hook sizes I have) and 3. They have the Bamboo handles which I LOVE.
I will buy more hooks IF I can find a 14" Tunisian/afghan hook in a size "N" or anything larger than a K.

Clay handled hooks
Look at this great new hooks! I got them from ebay. The lady who makes them is a member of Crochet Partners! I love them! They are pretty and practical. So many crocheters like to collect fancy hooks, but I've never been keen on hooks that I'm afraid to use. These I can USE, and their fun! Check out her products

Happy Birthday to me!
My friends think it's hysterical that I buy myself a birthday gift, because normally, I say that it's a gift from my Mom. My mom passed away 10 years ago, and ever since, I usually buy myself something for my birthday. (Really, I don't think anyone needs a reason to buy themselves a gift. Don't we all deserve a little 'pat on the back' for surviving another year and celebrating the hope of the year ahead?). When I explained to my friends that my Mom really would want me to have item "X", they just exploded into laughter. But, it's the truth. Because my Mom loved me and delighted when I was delighted, so if I delight myself with a birthday gift, she would be delighted, right? That's my story and I'm sticking to it :)
Anyway, what matters is that life is good. despite all the heckling that I received from my dear sister-in-law (who's older than me!)
I may not post tomorrow, because I have a lot scheduled, but I'll be back on Monday, and tell you the story of the Gazillion cupcakes.
