This is probably the best part of writing a book so far... choosing yarns! Color cards and catalogs, oh my! All those luscious colors and fibers. Hmm, I'd like one of those, and one of those, and I'll try this one and that one... oh it's good to be me today.

remember a lot of us buy what is on sale so think of some of the more common and cheaper yarn for some of the projects. I know they don't always turn out as nice, but just a thought. And remember your magenta.
Oh, you are so lucky. My goal is to figure out crochet and Knitting well enough to design something of mine own.
way to go Ellen! I'd like to be you, just kidding. No matter what yarn you use, be sure to finish it with blocking. By blocking your pieces (or finished piece if you prefer) you soften the fibers and get a nice drape to your fabric. Especially when making clothing items. I can steam regular acrylic and get it to feel like soy. Try it to your swatches and see how they come out.
