Inspiration: Primrose Stole
Have I told you about this one yet? This is a rectangular stole made of Spud & Chloe Fine. It's a superwash wool and silk blend and it blocks beautifully. The pattern is available through Tangled online magazine. What was I thinking? One of my cousins, who lives out of state and I don't get to see often, and I re-connected on Facebook a while back. Reading my posts and seeing my work, Stephanie made a comment about wanting a scarf. At the time, I was so swamped that I thought to myself, "If the Divine Mother herself asked for a scarf, it would be hard to find the time". That got me thinking, what could I make that would be worthy of the Mother of God? (cue choirs of angels) I designed this pattern to be light and airy. I love the wool/silk blend. The yarn also comes in lovely ecru and pale blue colors that I used for the proposal. They are join-as-you-go squares and I wanted something lacy. After the book, I'm all about join-as-you go ;) I think it turned out really well. I wish I had a photo of the before and after blocking, because it is nothing short of spectacular.

Beautiful! This will make a lovely gift!
Very pretty -- and I love the roses and lace for the mother of God. It makes me think of the Virgen de Guadalupe, and her day was on the 12th. Good timing! I'm not sure I'll ever have/take the time to make it -- or as you said, it would have to be actually for the mother of God with all of the projects I have queued and in process! By the way, did you ever make a scarf for your cousin?
After completing a recent join-as-you-go project, I'm a full believer! This is the perfect project to make for me for spring - after I finish all my holiday work :o) And the pink and green combo fits with my current 80's obsession - LOL!
