YouTube and Crochet!

Now that I have a teenager and a soon-to-be teenager, it has come to my attention that I am completely unaware of the impact of YouTube on the world. When it comes to crochet, tell me what I'm missing!  Who is your favorite YouTube crochet video producer/personality?  Why do you turn to YouTube for guidance? Do you go to YouTube before you turn to a book? Are you YouTube unaware like me?

Enlighten me!

I learnt to Crochet from you tube. I loved how I could stop and rewind as much as I needed to. When I first picked up a book the crochet language scared me. Now I understand my first call is Ravelry and books. I still go back to YouTube when there is a stitch I am struggling to understand. My son who is 9 already has a YouTube channel. I vet and put everything on so he can't do it himself. He loves the fact you can use your talents to make a job for yourself. Quite often if you want to hear the real stories behind the headlines then you can get them on there. You'll be amazed how much is kept out of the news. Governments stop things being published by telling reporters, news channels and newspapers that if they do they will loose their rites to information from them.
It also has a lot of strange things on. We have to vet everything my son watches on it. Even kids programs can be made into something rude.
I love showing my son the kids programs I watched as a child.

Oh goodness! I have used YouTube a lot! I used it to help me learn to knit. I have a few videos of my own out there to teach certain things. I have one video that has been viewed over 12,000 times, and that was months ago the last time I looked at it. YouTube is huge in teaching our craft!

My goodness! YouTube is THE media for teens right now. Who watches TV anymore? There are some very talented young people out there finding their voice and developing their skills with YouTube. You are watching the next generation of media celebrities.
