It's the Amazing Grace Wrap in the new Interweave Crochet, Spring 2009. Follow the link to see the entire preview. This is made of SouthWest Trading Company, Amaizing Corn yarn. This, by the way, is the yarn you should NOT iron. Remember?

Have I ever shown you this? It was in one of the Accord-Crochet Pattern-A-Day calendars. 2006? I think. Anyway, I've been going through old patterns and thought some of you might like this one. I'm thinking about making the PDF available. It is made of Red Heart LusterSheen.

What every little girl needs! A backpack to tote her Barbie Dolls in! This drawstring comfortably carries two Barbies (because just one is never enough) with room for various changes of clothing and shoes and purses. The colorwork makes a dense pattern that Barbie's shoes won't fall through. The PDF is now available for $4.00. Made in Caron Simply Soft Brites!

This is a big bag I designed probably close to 2 years ago, but have never shared. I didn't even think of it when we have been talking about the CAL Huge Tote. Anyway, I made the bottom bag photo first, felted the bag, and sewed the bamboo handles on after felting. But then I decided that the handles were too small for the size of the bag, so I made a strap (above), felted the strap, cut off the bamboo handles and sewed on the felted strap. This bag can be felted as shown, or not. If it's not felted, it would be somewhat hole-y. It is a shell type stitch with my own FPdc spin on it. I'll have to get the pre-felting measurements out for you. You may be able to "line" the unfelted (or felted) bag with an inexpensive store-bought canvas tote bag. What do you think of this pattern for the CAL? I'll do a poll. On the poll, this one will be called "Horizon Tote" and the green/purple one that I've been working on is the "Huge purple tote".

Did I show you this already or did I just think about showing you this? This is the birdhouse that Chief and Captain made together last week. Chief is very excited about it and they mounted it on a tree yesterday. We are looking forward to some new winged neighbors to move in!| Reactions: |
You've GOT to see this! Tracy G. stitched up a Pout bag for me and look what she did! She added little beads to the centers of the flowers. Genius! Great job Tracy! And to celebrate, the pattern is NOW available as a PDF pattern download. See the side bar for the "Buy Now" button. It is $4.00.

Ah, the more mundane tasks of life sometimes creep into my schedule. By mundane, I mean anything that is not crochet! Despite my distract-ibility yesterday I managed to refine one pattern and got another pattern transferred from my notes onto the computer. I keep "template" instruction files for every company I work with so that I can have a better chance of plugging in the info into the right format for the right company. When I don't know where a pattern is going or I'm going to self-publish, I choose the template that I like the best. (Now, I can't tell you which one, but I use it frequently).| Reactions: |
Here's the original Sneak peek,
And here's the bag! Felted, out of Caron Felt-It, this pattern is going to be available as a PDF as soon as my helper gives the pattern a once-over. I call it the "Pout Bag" because it is kind of a tear-drop shape, but it's too cute to be sad, so, it's just a 'pout'. I found the big 5" steel rings at Hobby Lobby.

A tech editor is a person, usually a contracted free-lance person, who is hired by the magazine or yarn company to comb through the written pattern and correct it. They look for math errors, they look for typos, they look for formatting problems. They also have to be experts in crochet so that they can 'visualize' if what you have written matches what you have stitched. They also have to understand all the grading nuances of garments so that each size will work with the instructions. This is a difficult, tedious, time-consuming job (I would think).| Reactions: |
Here's the First Communion Dress at about the half-way point. I plan on putting on a sash or tie, the skirt needs about 12" more. You may be able to tell that the bottom 3" of the skirt in the photo, the fabric has become more open. I'm working on a shrug in the same stitch pattern as the skirt. I think that I'm going to embroider (in white) some lazy daisy type flowers just above the waistband. I haven't decided if I'm going to add a cap sleeve or not.
